Overview

Having trouble finding somewhere to develop and scan your film during quarantine? Look no further, a mail in 35mm film development and scanning option made easy and affordable price is available. The process is very simple, under ‘Pricing” choose what option best fits your needs. Then email blixoff@gmail.com what development or scanning service you would like. After your email is sent you will receive an invoice. There is no need to wait for a response to send film in or drop it off. If film is dropped off, please leave a return address with the film. There is a TWO roll requirement for every order and there will be a 5% discount of orders with 10 or more roles. All negatives will be returned in an archival negative sleeve.

Development

All film will be developed with with Cinestill C-41 chemicals, in a temperature controlled environment with a Patterson tank. Only color 35mm can currently be accepted. After development the film will be run through LFN to help promote even drying and reduce water spots. After drying, the film will then be cut into strips of 6 and placed in an archival negative sleeve.

Scanning

Negatives will be scanned using a Nikon d3300 and then converted in Lightroom for the most natural colors possible. The scans will be much higher resolution then drug store scanning since they are being scanned with a camera saving images as RAW files. Images will be saved as JPEG files.

FAQ/Notes

  1. There will be a $3.00 shipping fee applied to every order.

  2. There is a two role of film minimum for development, however one role of pre-developed film for scanning is acceptable.

  3. APS film is not accepted.

  4. No printing options are available, Walgreen’s or Sam’s Club is recommended for affordable small prints.

  5. Disposable cameras are accepted.

  6. Re-loadable film canisters will be returned with negatives and scans.

  7. A special request of not having the film returned can be made, in that case the $3.50 shipping fee will be removed and the images will be returned by email.

  8. 120 film or B/W film processing is not accepted, unless a bulk order of 15 or more roles is placed, if this occurs prices will be negotiated.

  9. As long as no one is being harmed in your photographs, anything is fine.

  10. There are no guarantees for the quality of expired film. Buyer will assume responsibility for any results.

  11. Scans will be saved as JPEG files.

  12. Processing time, from when the film is received and excluding shipping, is 5 business days.
